first big break

Joss Stone
Born Joscelyn Eve Stoker in 1987, Joss Stone was only 16 when she emerged on the music scene in 2003.

In 2002, Stone took a big chance and got her big break when she left home in Devon for an audition in New York City. She impressed Steve Greenberg, CEO of S-Curve Records, so much with her take on Donna Summer's ‘On the Radio,’ that she immediately landed herself a record deal.

R&B/soul pioneer Betty Wright joined Stone in the studio for her first recording together with vocalist Angie Stone for what became ‘The Soul Sessions’ EP.
