Sean Paul
Reggae
carefree party superstar and king of dancehall, Sean Paul Henriques
(his full name) has been a huge star for the last 10 years in his
hometown of Kingston, Jamaica.
In his early teens, dancehall reggae became Sean Paul’s leading
passion. After leaving college he made money as a chef and later
as a teller in a bank and developed his musical skills by making
dubs and playing barbecues.
Sean began writing his own lyrics and in 1996, after a couple of singles,
his big break when he made the crucial connection with then up-and-coming
producer Jeremy Harding, owner of 2 Hard Records. Produced by Harding,
‘Baby Girl’ became his first huge hit.
In 1998, Sean recorded 'Infiltrate' on Jeremy Harding’s Playground/Zim
Zimma riddim. The riddim was a reggae smash, both in Jamaica and internationally
and with his next record ‘Gimme the Light’ Sean Paul broke
into the mainstream US market.

London and won a High Times magazine Award for 'Gimme The Light.'
